Section 11 Housing Disrepair Surveys

Blacksons can assist in reporting evidence against your landlord regarding your Housing Disrepair claim. Our disrepair experts are qualified members or the Royal Institute of Building Surveyors (RCIS), who regularly undertake residential property inspections for Housing Disrepair and Cavity Wall purposes.

A surveyor will inspect your property and complete a detailed report on the items of alleged disrepair, addressing the surveyor’s opinions regarding these items with regards to causation together with photographs. The report will provide a detailed response to these items and costs for suggested solutions which will be set out in a Scott Schedule.

Part 35 Expert Reports

Our surveyors are all qualified to give expert evidence and justifications in the writing of a Housing Disrepair Report. In the unfortunate circumstances where the claimant and defendant are unable to reach an agreement, our team can prepare a report in the hopes of resolving the dispute.

Advice on Cavity Wall Systems

Does your property have horizontal cracks in the mortar? Bulging Brickwood caused by snapped wall tiles? Any internal cracks or cracks to the render? Or lifting of roof edges? It sounds like you may have a cavity wall.

If you suspect your property could have a problem with a cavity wall and may require a cavity wall tie replacement, our surveyors can come and inspect your property to accurately identify if cavity wall tie is the problem and provide advice alongside a quote for cavity wall tie replacement.

Advice on Invasive Weeds

When you are buying, selling or developing a house of land you must consider the environment you are in. For more information you may wish to review The Wildlife and Countryside Act (1981). If you suspect you have an invasive weed species which needs confirmation, our surveyors are happy to assist.
