Project Monitoring

Blacksons are currently undertaking a roof replacement and an extensive internal timber repair and redecoration scheme to a 16th century, grade II* listed property in York city centre. This property is located within a Conservation area and of the highest historical importance.

We were instructed to act as Project Managers and Contract Administrators following a dilapidation issued to the previous tenants. After specifying and tendering the works required to bring the property back into repair, we liaised with York City Council to obtain planning permission by meeting listed building consent requirements.

Following bat and pigeon nesting surveys, a thorough inspection to highlight items of disrepair, technical drawings were produced by an archaeologist and a methodology for roof repairs drafted.
